Damascus Drum is a cosmopolitan gem, tucked away just a few steps from the High Street in Hawick. Lovely food, quiet atmosphere, a tasteful selection of books to read (and buy) and a very artistic ambience with a definite (but not blatant) Turkish flavour.
Could do with a good clean. Reeking, possibly other customer, staff were disappointed to see people, think they wanted an early finish, food was ok.
Excellent soup and rissoles today, bought a book as always, and where else am I going to get a decent Turkish coffee? Always come here when in Hawick, always eat, drink and buy books. Like heaven, but less showy!
This is a fabulous little cafe with lots of character. Food was really good, staff were incredibly friendly and very accommodating of our two small children. A perfect place for a cuppa or bite to eat for bookworms as the whole cafe is also a second hand bookshop.
